About

Chris Round is an award-winning advertising and design creative who mixes consulting work with fine-art photography.

In advertising Chris has worked as an art director, writer & Creative Director. He is perhaps best known for creating multi-channel/integrated campaigns including the famous 1900-9-JIMBEAM campaign that set a new benchmark for integration in Australian advertising. The campaign won a Grand Prix at Cannes in 2003 (only the 3rd in Australian history at the time) and it’s been said that the high level of integration prompted the need for a new category at Cannes - the Titanium and Integrated Lions. His work has also been recognised at D&AD, The One Show, Clio, NY Festivals, and AWARD.

Chris has created award-winning work for numerous blue chip clients at agencies such as Young & Rubicam, M&C Saatchi, Leo Burnett, Moon Group and Naked Communications where, as Head of Ideas, he played a major role in them winning AdNews Agency of the Year for 2006. He now consults to advertising and design agencies across Sydney, drawing on his multi-disciplinary skills to help ideate, write and art-direct creative solutions for clients across a variety of industry groups.

Chris is also an internationally recognised photographic artist and, when not consulting, pursues his interest in fine art photography. His work has been awarded across the globe, highlights include: Shortlisted World Photo Awards; HeadOn Landscape Prize - Finalist each year; Winner CLIP Regional Landscape Prize; 3rd place Queensland Centre for Photography ‘Space & Place’; Twice finalist and Honourable Mention Exposure NY; Winner Best Architectural Image, Kodak Salon Awards, CCP Melbourne; selected Josephine Ulrick & Win Schubert Prize. He has also exhibited widely in groups shows and as a solo artist, with his critically acclaimed 2012 show ‘Evidence’, curated by Sandy Edwards (Stills Gallery/ArtHere), putting his work firmly on the map.

Chris is available for both consulting on advertising projects and commissioned photographic work.
